Pulling this up from the 2p2 goals thread

- 20K hands - FAILWHALE. I don't think I was that lazy, but I had way more uni work than I thought I would have, AND action at 1/2 has really dried up since the start of the year which sucks so I still put in quite a lot of table hours but it wasn't enough, more realistic/informed goals next time
- $$$ - meh, I'm not complaining about my results given my volume but not a stellar month by any means, would've liked to have done a bit better.

Month was reasonably smooth, no long downswings or anything, I dont anticipate playing that month in the near future as I have exams until the 22nd June. Would be interested in doing another volume bet with someone during the holidays though. I'm pretty sure Premium didn't make his target either so looks like we will be shipping each other copies of GTA, it's meant to be pretty sick.

Sad news is that phoenix have busted out of the playoffs. We were down 2-0 and rallied to win the next two games, lost game 5 in a pretty brutal fashion and then just got raped in game 6 for the most part. It wasn't the best season so it would've been a pretty massive fluke to make it to the finals. Anyway the finals will be lakers - celtics which is a pretty classic match up, celtics ftw imo.

Here's yesterdays play (1118 hands)

Brings the monthly total to

Hands: 9808
P/L: +$3650

So I didn't play at all today. I was up late last night for the champions league final. We went to morris' house for some drinkaments, ended up getting a few hours sleep before waking up again for the game around 4. Inter won 2-0 which was to be expected (I won a massive $10 in side bets, ship it!). Ended up sleeping until the afternoon and just had a massive amount of study to catch up on. There is a World Cup bet running in the HUNL forum on 2p2 which I'm in. Basically there were 16 players, $100 buy in, each player gets 2 teams (random selection) and the eventual world cup winner pays out $1200, and the lowest ranked team to make it through the group stage gets the last $400. The teams I drew were Portugal and France (who are ranked 3rd and 10th in the world respectively). Looks good on paper but in reality I think it's probably about as close to expectation you can get, given that I can't possibly win the $400 prize pool, and 12-1 is reasonable odds for one of france or portugal winning the WC, possibly a little better but France really aren't in good form at the moment and portugal historically have never really performed on the big stage.

iceBANANAs` linked me to this standup comedian Aziz Ansari. Some pretty funny standup which I would recommend checking out. This is my favourite one, but the Kanye West one is also very good.

Here's todays play (1442 hands)

Brings the monthly total to

Hands: 8690
P/L: +$3130

It's nice to have a winning day, but again I'm pretty frustrating because it easily could've been a lot better. I played pretty damn well today and basically all my winning came from this guy, I won something like 6 buyins off him (for some reason it hasn't shown up on his ptr, but trust me on this one :P), but that was just running hot at getting the right opponent, like seriously it's impossible to lose to a guy who plays like this:

Full Tilt Poker $100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 2 players - View hand 706804
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN/SB): $483.20
BB: $102.40

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN/SB with 9 of diamonds 8 of clubs
Hero raises to $3, BB raises to $5, Hero calls $2

Flop: ($10.00) 7 of spades J of clubs T of hearts (2 players)
BB bets $10.50, Hero raises to $25, BB raises to $39.50, Hero raises to $54, BB calls $14.50

Turn: ($118.00) T of clubs (2 players)
BB bets $43.40, Hero calls $43.40

River: ($204.80) 4 of hearts (2 players)

Final Pot: $204.80
Hero shows 9 of diamonds 8 of clubs
BB shows Q of hearts 2 of clubs
Hero wins $204.30
(Rake: $0.50)

anyway he eventually decided to quit after getting his chat banned for swearing at me. towards the end of that match some other guy jumped on a table and just won every single pot, every single showdown for 100 hands (my biggest win was a $14 pot) and walked away with almost half my profits from the other guy which was pretty tilting. Played another sessionthis evening which started off well, then this guy comes along, plays super predicatbly/awfully, super soft spot and pretty passive too so low variance. I grind him down from his 150 buyin to about 80ish then this happens:

Full Tilt Poker $200.00 No Limit Hold'em - 2 players - View hand 706805
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN/SB): $308.90
BB: $78.70

Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is BTN/SB with Q of diamonds A of clubs
Hero raises to $6, BB raises to $78.70, Hero calls $72.70

Flop: ($157.40) A of diamonds J of hearts 8 of clubs

Turn: ($157.40) 6 of spades

River: ($157.40) 5 of spades

Final Pot: $157.40
Hero shows Q of diamonds A of clubs
BB shows A of spades J of diamonds
BB wins $156.90
(Rake: $0.50)

whatever, his shove is meh vs me but shit happens. Wash rinse and repeat I grind him down to about 80 again and this happens:

Full Tilt Poker $200.00 No Limit Hold'em - 2 players - View hand 706807
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN/SB): $293.10
BB: $81.10

Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is BTN/SB with K of hearts 7 of diamonds
Hero raises to $4, BB calls $2

Flop: ($8.00) 4 of spades 2 of hearts 3 of hearts (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $6.00, BB calls $6

Turn: ($20.00) 7 of clubs (2 players)
BB bets $71.10, Hero calls $71.10

River: ($162.20) 5 of diamonds (2 players)

Final Pot: $162.20
Hero shows K of hearts 7 of diamonds
BB shows K of spades 6 of clubs
BB wins $161.70
(Rake: $0.50)

lol, brilliant play there buddy! fwiw he would never have played a strong made hand like this, he was way to much of a slowplayer and nitty to ever put this much money in on one street like this. Anyway, that little victory hasn't managed to appease him from spazzing out, shortly after this happens:

Full Tilt Poker $200.00 No Limit Hold'em - 2 players - View hand 706808
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN/SB): $237.30
BB: $160.30

Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is BTN/SB with 7 of spades J of spades
Hero raises to $6, BB raises to $18, Hero calls $12

Flop: ($36.00) T of clubs 7 of clubs 6 of spades (2 players)
BB bets $142.30, Hero calls $142.30

Turn: ($320.60) 6 of clubs (2 players)

River: ($320.60) 6 of diamonds (2 players)

Final Pot: $320.60
Hero shows 7 of spades J of spades
BB shows 6 of hearts 9 of hearts
BB wins $320.10
(Rake: $0.50)

And he snap quits after this hand :( FML!

So that pretty much wrecked my day, but hey still took money and I have to thank my lucky stars for getting to play that genius who is responsible for the sharp uptick in that graph. Tomorrow night is the Champions League final between Inter and Bayern Munich. Given I'm a Milan fan I really shouldn't be rooting for Inter, but I think I am going to, they are flying the flag for the Serie A so that's my justification. That being said I won't care that much if they lose, I'm just happy there are no English teams in the final lol. Inter probably deserve to win looking at the path they've taken to get to the final (namely taking out both Chelsea and Barcalona). I haven't read any pregame stuff but I'm wondering if we're going to see the *best striker in the world* playing...

Also just saw this new Nike add for the World Cup, pretty sick and funny too :). Alright tomorrow I'm playing atleast 1310 hands (to put my monthly total over 10K), which leaves me 8 days to finish off the last 10K hands.... ez game.

Today was uber gay and uber slow. I basically sat for hours getting no action and when I did I just got coolered and then hit and run on. I cbf writing more about it, gonna try get in a ton of hands this weekend though. If I can manage to get 5K hands in over friday/saturday/sunday then I might have a shot at making the hands target :).

Here's todays play (527 hands)

Brings the monthly total to

Hands: 6752
P/L: +$2795

Lol well it seems I'm pretty shit at kicking off sessions but at least I know how to make a comeback right? Today I had another (relatively) long match with some fish who I had pegged as pretty straightforward/nitty but in reality I'm pretty sure he was bluffing me off a ton of hands. It wasn't until really deep in our match when I managed to catch him just making the most random/insane floats and then bluffing later. One example comes to mind where he double floated OOP with air on a K high board to then donk bluff a board pairing river (obv repping the rivered trips). Today I tried starting some 6-max games just to try and get a bit of extra action and hopefully get to play some 6-max fish (who are generally even more awful at HU than HU fish). It didn't work out to well as basically all my games turned into full tables within 10 hands and I didn't want to play 6-max as I'm incredibly rusty and have no reads on any of the FTP regs.

I mentioned a few blogs ago that I had been watching a few documentaries lately. The one I'm currently watching is called Dubai Dreams, and is a 6-part series of 30-min episodes which each focus on a different topic. So far my favourite episode has been the one focused on property in Dubai. It is absolutely insane the kind of developments that are going on there, like there is actually nothing else in the world like it. I'm sure a lot of people already know a fair bit about Dubai but I was (for all intents and purposes) a complete noob, was I have been pretty amazed so far. The doco is about 5-6 years old so some of the developments that are in the works during the show have been completed now. Anyway I will finish this blog by leaving you with a few pictures of the more spectacular property developments in Dubai.

The Burj al-Arab Hotel, 7 Star hotel and obviously balla as shit as it is on its own island.

The Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world (with ease)

The Palm. Man made series of islands in the shape of a palm.... also very balla

The World. Again, man made islands in the shape of the world, islands are selling from between $7M-$35M... jake told me David Beckham bought England... seems quite possible.
